We are always pleased to welcome new members to the Team, either to the operational search team, or to help us out with essential maintenance and fundraising tasks. No previous experience is required as recruits undertake training and assessment - though to become an operational member you must have a fair degree of physical fitness and be confident in the outdoors. Once qualified, further specialist training is available in areas such as First Aid, Navigation, and Swift Water Rescue,Mud Rescue.

Once we have viewed your form, you will be considered for attendance at our next new member's evening where we will be able to tell you more about the unit and what membership entails.

If you are suitable for membership, then we will invite you to start attending our fortnightly training evenings as a probationary member. After a period of in-house training you will be considered to become an operational member of SLSAR.
